Mission Accomplished
2nd Chance Job Fair
May 14, 2019
Commissioner Calvert has hosted two Bexar County 2nd Chance job fairs, one in 2015 which had over 1500 job seekers and one in 2017 which had over 750, to assist the formerly incarcerated or those who have faced challenges due to the economic downturn.
The goal is to connect employers with job seekers who have been unemployed and reduce the chance of the individual returning to a life of crime to support themselves and their family. Therefore saving Bexar County money through court services and jail incarceration by providing economic opportunity to those formally incarcerated and address issues of recidivism.
